For meritorious achievement while assigned to 2nd Platoon, Griffins, 2nd Squad, Wizards. Private Second Class J. Holes distinguished himself through exceptional enthusiasm, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the success and safety of his squad. Serving as a scout, PV2 Holes consistently demonstrated initiative and an aggressive commitment to maintaining situational awareness, routinely moving ahead of the element and providing timely, accurate, and actionable reports to squad leadership. Through constant observation and effective communication, PV2 Holes provided critical callouts that repeatedly alerted his fellow Soldiers to enemy positions, movements, and emerging threats. His ability to rapidly identify and communicate potential dangers gave the squad valuable time to react, maneuver, and engage, directly contributing to the preservation of his fellow Soldiers and the continued effectiveness of the element. PV2 Holes consistently displayed an exceptional level of enthusiasm and motivation, willingly taking on the responsibilities associated with being the squad's forward eyes and ears. He maintained a positive attitude in high-pressure situations and continuously sought opportunities to assist his fellow Soldiers, whether through reconnaissance, communication, security, or direct support to the squad's mission. His reliability, situational awareness, and willingness to place himself in positions of increased risk for the benefit of his fellow Soldiers made him an invaluable member of Second Squad. PV2 Holes' actions, professionalism, and dedication to his team reflected great credit upon himself, 2nd Platoon, Griffins, 2nd Squad, Wizards, and the United States Army.
