For outstanding achievement during Mission TumbleWeed. While rapidly maneuvering between objectives under strict time constraints, Specialist Kit observed suspicious enemy activity and immediately notified his leadership. Demonstrating initiative and determination, he led his squad to investigate the position despite coming under small-arms fire. His actions enabled the squad to conduct reconnaissance and a swift raid on a concealed enemy fighting position. Specialist Kit’s keen observation and decisive leadership directly resulted in the discovery and destruction of a hidden bunker and mortar systems that posed a significant threat to 1st Platoon and his squad. His performance brings great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
