During Mission Sparta: After 2 squads of the Platoon suffered massive casualties due to a BMP firing down the a ridge, SGT York saw the critical moment and leaped into action rushing towards the elements to render medical aid. The BMP managed to inflict so many casualties that by the end of its rampage SGT G.York had used up all of his bandages, spending roughly 10 minutes patching up wounded from the platoon. Without his quick action and Medical Expertise 1st platoon would have suffered grievous casualties.

York is honoring the rank of Sergeant through the performance and dedication he brings every weekend. In his time as a Fire Team Leader, SGT York pushed himself above and beyond into becoming an excellent tactical leader and fulfilling the duties of a squad leader with clearly no issues. Whenever his squad leader is not available for Squad Drills, SGT York trains, improves and leads the soldiers at best capacity, all while being able to run a zeused mission. During previous Operation and current FTX, SGT York showed that taking over as a squad leader is not a challenge for him, often maintaining great communication with the squad and the platoon. Through the way he performs as a Fire Team Leader, SGT York lives up to the NCO Creed.

21Y (Uniform Updater - CID): The CPL went on an LOA to focus on school matters, but upon returning immediately was ready to take on requests assigned to him and knew what was asked. He didn’t hesitate to get into action and ensured his assignments were completed in a timely manner to ensure soldiers and officers got their uniform up to standard again. His dedication to the DMOS is noticed and we are proud to have him update the uniforms.
