During our convoy evaluation operation, specialist Moffet was involved in a firefight in an urban environment with a small insurgent force. After a few members of his team had suffered injuries, he acknowledged that a flank was weak. Redeploying to cover the weaker sector, Moffet caught a fireteam of insurgent forces and eliminated them, narrowly avoiding being directly hit by an RPG in the process. Twice. His actions prevented significant harm to Wizards, and for this he is being recognized.

Moffet has been stepping up as a team leader when requested during the practical portions of the FTX period, and to great success at that. His dedication to self-improvement, willingness to analyze, criticize and develop doctrine, and embodiment of thinking above his paygrade has paid dividends when the time for responsibility has arisen, and for this he is deserving of recognition with this army achievement medal.

During mission Benelux, Wizards was under heavy fire supporting a fallback position for Warlocks. While attempting to fix and neutralise a position of enemy armour, the AT gunner for the fireteam went down. Understanding the severity and time-sensitivity of the situation, PFC Moffet acted quickly and instinctively to deploy smoke grenades, advance to the downed soldier while maintaining effective suppression himself, then requested an increased rate of fire from the rest of the team as he dragged the wounded soldier out of the line of fire and performed life-saving triage on them. For his quick thinking, and demonstration of courage, PFC Moffet saved his squadmate and earned an AAM at the same time.
