This February, Corporal Scott and Sergeant Erickson have been selected to lead Second Squad within their respective Platoons. Over the course of a year, they have both received lots of support from the unit, and have learned many things, shaping them up to be very skillful soldiers with exceptional leadership capabilities.

1st Platoon, Second Squad - Corporal Scott

CPL Scott, a former member of the unit, re-enlisted in May 2025, quickly becoming a trusted soldier within 1st Platoon, Second Squad. He served 3 Duty Military Occupational Specialties, including the Recruiting and Retention Office (79S), the Force Improvement Group (11B2H), and the Corps of Engineers (94A).

On November 8, 2025, CPL Scott assumed the position of Fireteam Leader, becoming his Squad Leader's 2IC. During these past few months, he had been assisting in Squad Drills and demonstrating steady leadership under pressure, alongside expert rifle marksmanship. His professionalism goes even further, having graduated the Airborne Assault & Advanced Radio Communications Class, alongside Ranger School and the Warrior Leadership Course.

"It's the first week in the new billet. Still trying to get comfortable in it, balancing my leadership style, with the squad's way, so that there won't be too many new changes at once."

2nd Platoon, Second Squad - Sergeant Erickson

SGT Erickson enlisted in the Aviation Detachment as a Crew Pilot Trainee in 2024, reaching the position of Army Aviator in just under 3 months. He served the Public Affairs Office (46N) , the Corps of Engineers (12T) and recently, the Force Improvement Group (11B1H).

On February 25, 2025, He was demoted to the ranks of Specialist, having been requested to try and get the Medevac section going. After that had been completed, he obtained the position of Senior Flight Medic and started to look for a change of pace, briefly joining 1st Platoon, Third Squad as their Fireteam Leader on June 13, 2025, before transferring to 2nd Platoon, Second Squad as their Squad Medic a month later. Throughout his career, SGT Erickson has showcased his determination, adaptability, and professionalism as a well-trusted pilot and highly-skilled medic. Recently, he was one of the few soldiers who graduated the Advanced Leadership Course.

Present Day

On February 23, 2026, they were both officially promoted to Squad Leader within their respective Platoons. Their promotions reflect not only individual achievement, but the Third Infantry Division Unit's continued investment in developing strong internal leadership. We welcome them into their new roles and will continue to support them as their journey continues.
